JAN 2024

This evenings meeting was the AGM. The chairman (Mick) reflected on how the club had continued to thrive since it started way back in 1979, when most of the members were all digging. Sadly we are all getting too old for that. Our shows started in the local Assembly Rooms but after 4 shows we moved to the Community Centre. We used to hold an auction at the show but so many people wanted stalls we gave these up. The community centre is brilliant for our shows now.

The treasurer said that our bank balance was down £325. We do spend a lot out on 2 connoisseurs raffles and 2 free fish and chip nights which does affect our balance. We have therefore decide to drop one of the fish and chip nights and also to increase early entry to shows to £5, which is in line with other shows. Stallholder costs will remain the same at a modest £18.
